I want to monitor SFC when i use it, to make sure the same files aren’t being altered by a virus or something. Is there a way to do this? When using SFC, the drive is being accessed a lot, restoring system files from the XP CD-ROM.

I lost my XP professiional CD that came with my laptop. but i have got the Home edition too, so i installed it, and its pretty much the same really, i couldnt see any difference yet..

so is there any big differences? any problems? compaitibility etc?

Here is the problem: On the same computer I have a version of Windows XP Pro that won’t start up. This is where I have all my documents and photos. I also have a version of Windows Home Edition that will start up ok but it’s empty . I would like to either get my xp pro to work again OR transfer all my documents from pictures from xp pro to Home edition.

Anybody know how to do that?

What is the difference between(window xp home edition recory disk) and a (window xp installation program disk)? I am trying to fixe my computer and put it to the original format from the first day I bought it. But I keep getting advice from people and told me two different things to use. Which of those 2 things that I should use?
