I was convinced to purchase this package because it offered a ‘commercial’ Ubuntu 8.04 CD along with a training CD. Whatr it doesn’t tell you is that the training information could easily fit on a 1.44 M floppy disk. The Ubuntu 8.04 is available free to download. And at about 10-cents a blank CD, it only costs you the dinme and your time to download and burn the CD.But for the training, it would be worth the over 12 dollars for the package. The training consists of four PDF files. Not a lot of training. I bit and was not pleased with the ‘bargain,’ but it was my fault fopr expecting more than they delivered. At least I have a very professional copy of Ubuntu 8.04.

DVD X DVD was a great company. My DVD did not work, they sent me a new one and then sent me a CD when my DVD still did not read it. Customer service was GD exceptional.
Now know I am the guy that still complains that MS bailed on MS-DOS, and got on quite well but still cuss that stupid windows XP. And would live to stick it to Bill Gates like he does to me.
But do not set out on the Unix journey if you are on dialup. It is not the place for you.
I was amazed that UBUNTU took in everything but my MODEM. It found my usb disks, my zip disks, my HP printer and scanner, my SD cards.
If I were just in DSL or Wireless, It might be heaven. And BG’s would be my bitch. And nothing makes me happier than Billie with lipstick, squeeling like a pig.

I have used Unix for decades at work, but have always had to “deal” with Windows, its viruses, its registry and its lockups. So easy to install and use, everything just works beautifully. I gave up on Windows when Vista came out and although I like OS X, Apple’s stranglehold on computers running their OS has made that proposition a tad expensive. Ubuntu is aimed toward everyday users. I really think this puts Linux within reach of almost anyone with basic computer skills and a little willingness to work though small problems. Ubuntu is cleaner, leaner, and more stable than Windows. This set works for me, library has valuable books, videointro freshes up my Unix skills. Keep up the great job!

Ubuntu 9.10 has a pleasurable design, very smooth installation and easy to use menu system. CD with the Library is great, I saved my time and money not to browse in bookstores for these materials. I watched video dvd 3 or 4 times and it gave me very smart hints how to work with Linux hassle-free. My expedited order came on time, even 1 day earlier, in a nice package.
